The key to removing the Google Slap, and reducing your bids, is in Google's Quality Score calculations.
Quality Score is pivotal to bids, average CPC, and ad position.
Though a confusing thing is that the term "Quality Score" is used in significantly different ways. So it's not like there is just one to deal with.
The two most important ones are:
1) Keyword Quality Score This is the quality of the keyword, independent of landing page and "landing site". It's what is used to determine ad position (for the keyword).
2) Keyword Bid Quality Score Similar to above, but taking into account landing page and site. It is used to determine minimum bid. This is the Quality Score that you need to focus on to defeat "The Google Slap"
The focus of "Google Slap Secrets" is on "Keyword Bid Quality Score" since that's where the slap comes from.
You want to remove the slap, and reduce your minimum bids below what you want to pay for them.
For example, if you have a minimum of .50 per click and you really want to pay .10 to be in the position you want, then you really need to remove that artificially high minimum.
You won't be getting any value by overpaying by .40 for each click!
Once you have those minimums reduced and have removed "The Slap", then you can focus on "Keyword Quality Score" - which is about getting higher position for your money (i.e. paying even less per click)
